Smartwatch replacement? Samsung ring for €450 in the test
South Korean electronics giant Samsung is shrinking the smartwatch and has recently started offering a sensor-laden ring for the finger as an alternative - the Galaxy Ring. A particularly inconspicuous and convenient way to quantify yourself or just another unnecessary gadget? Krone+ has tested it.
Not everyone wants to wear smart watches all the time, and some also require nightly charging breaks - making it difficult to collect sleep data. Samsung has done away with the display on its smart ring and crammed the sensors of a smartwatch into a compact format that you wear on your finger. The battery life can be rated as impressive: Seven days is unattainable for many smartwatches and a clear argument in favor of the ring. But it has other disadvantages.
