Cost increase in Upper Austria

At least 500 euros more for electricity

Bad news for all electricity customers - and there are quite a few of them - throughout Upper Austria. At the turn of the year, grid fees will rise and the brakes on energy prices and the electricity and ecology levy will expire. We asked what this means for customers and who benefits.

Not only does this year have an expiration date, but so do many of the brakes on charges and levies that curb the price of electricity. If there are no other decisions at a political level, every household in Upper Austria will have to prepare for at least 500 euros in additional electricity costs per year, assuming a consumption of 2900 kilowatt hours.
