Car plunged over a slope: Pensioner (82) dead

A fatal car accident occurred in Lower Austria on Thursday afternoon. An 82-year-old driver lost his life.

The 82-year-old was driving his car in Ybbsitz at around 2.30 p.m. when he suddenly drove off a goods road. According to the fire department, the pensioner was in the process of pushing his car back along the goods road when he left the road.

Cause unclear
Shortly afterwards, he crashed over a slope in his car. The emergency services were called to the scene and were only able to determine that he had died. It is still unclear why the 82-year-old left the road. The vehicle was recovered by the Ybbsitz fire brigade.
