A question of the license
How Red Bull Salzburg tricks the Bundesliga
Austria's runners-up Red Bull Salzburg are in trouble with the Bundesliga. Only one of the Bulls' three goalkeeping coaches has the license required by the league. However, this coach is mainly active in the academy of the Mozartstädter and only sits on the bench as a "shadow man".
Almost no stone was left unturned at the Bulls in the summer. A lot has changed, especially in the team's staff. Coach Pep Lijnders took two familiar faces with him to the city of Mozart: Vitor Matos (assistant coach) and Andreas Kornmayer (athletics coach). The goalkeeping coach positions have also been filled.
Instead of legend Herbert Ilsanker, who is now working in the academy, and Sebastian Baumgartner (Bochum), Lijnders intimus Pedro Filipe da Silva Pereira and ex-Bulls goalie Eddie Gustafsson have been installed. But there is even a third goalkeeping coach in the squad. At least officially. His name is David Schartner.
