More than 79 million people meet on Roblox every day to "play, be creative and interact" in self-created virtual worlds "with wizards and dragons through to exciting racing games". The platform, which was launched in 2006 and aims to "revolutionize the way people come together", is also extremely popular in Germany.
According to the latest Youth Internet Monitor, almost a fifth (19 percent) of children and young people aged 11 to 17 use the online platform, whose self-declared goal is to create "the safest and most decent online platform where everyone has the opportunity to create, learn, share and develop". However, Roblox still seems to be a long way from achieving this goal.
