Discord and disputes surrounding the replacement of the Rector have dominated the University of Salzburg for months. Now Bernhard Fügenschuh, the new man at the helm, is set to make things right. In an interview with the "Krone" newspaper, he talks about disagreements, plans for the future and personal matters.

"Krone": What are the strengths of the University of Salzburg? Where will the journey go under your leadership?
Bernhard Fügenschuh: The strengths are many and varied. That is motivating. A lot can happen at a comprehensive university if people are interested in each other. Psychology, Life Sciences and European Studies are highly visible. The "book sciences" and geoinformatics have a very long tradition.
