The National Council is supposed to represent the interests of Austrians - regardless of age. The parties send representatives of different age groups into the race - young and long-serving politicians in particular are standing for election. We spoke to two of them about their motives. 

"Krone": What made you decide to run again?
Elisabeth Pittermann: There was no reason for me to decline. It is a great honor to be nominated, an even greater honor to be able to work as a member of parliament for Austria. It is important to be a voice for older people, because some things need to improve for them too.
