According to Oracle founder Larry Ellison, what is already common practice in authoritarian countries such as China could soon be introduced in democratic states: an era of mass surveillance by AI in which citizens only show their "best side". The 80-year-old multi-billionaire certainly wants to play his part.

Larry Ellison is considered a veteran and heavyweight of the tech industry. In 1977, the 80-year-old founded the company Software Development Laboratories in Silicon Valley, California, which would rise to global fame a few years later under a different name as a specialist in database management: Oracle.
