Flood of reports due to violation of compulsory school attendance

A parliamentary inquiry by the Green Party reveals a virulent problem that has been growing rapidly since the coronavirus pandemic. According to the inquiry, there are significantly more violations of compulsory school attendance in Austria today than four years ago - especially in three federal states. The "Krone" has the figures.

In Austria, lessons do not only take place in schools. It is also possible at home. But only if families meet certain requirements and the education authority agrees. Otherwise, there are penalties for non-compliance with compulsory schooling. Until the pandemic, there were rarely any problems.
