Today, it is no longer so easy for winegrowers and farmers to survive. Unless they are of a certain size or have the courage to produce "different" products. Did you know that there is rice, chia and peanuts in Burgenland? And low-alcohol or low-histamine wine? We took a look around! 

Erwin Unger from Wallern stands in front of a field and checks the ripeness of the plants. "This is Salvia hispanica, a type of sage," he explains, pointing to the blue flowers. Next to them in the field, the flowers are already brown and ready for harvesting. Unger has been growing black, white and red rice for years.
