Why the ChatGPT founder wants our eyeballs
There is no real person behind every second activity on the internet. The hordes of so-called bots are becoming increasingly threatening due to artificial intelligence. Sam Altman, of all people, who started the AI hype with ChatGPT, now claims to have found a solution to the flood of bots. Trevor Traina, former US ambassador in Vienna, rolls out the so-called World ID and explains to the "Krone" how it is supposed to work.
Machine-generated bots can be annoying: For example, that long-awaited music concert is just around the corner, but there are hundreds of thousands of people in the queue to order tickets. The problem is that most of them are not real people, but automatically generated programs that order as many tickets as possible virtually at once. In future, however, a technology is set to help prevent just such a scenario.
