What Haider could have learned from Doskozil

In his book, Burgenland Governor Hans Peter Doskozil cites the late Carinthian Governor Jörg Haider as a role model. In fact, the two have a lot in common in their political work. Haider's "bread and circuses" policy ended in the bankruptcy of Hypo-Alpe-Adria-Bank; where Doskozil's so-called Doskonomics will lead remains to be seen. The "Krone" dares to make a comparison.

"Haider and Carinthia, that was one big party", "profil" once wrote. He gave the Carinthians bread and circuses and self-confidence. At his call, things were ordered, ordered and paid for. His time in office was marked by major projects, some of which were never realized, others failed spectacularly or swallowed up enormous sums of money.
