Few companies manage to stay in business as long as the chimney sweep business run by the Guetz family from Rosental. The business is now in its fifth generation and has been ensuring the safety of Rosental households for over 160 years.

It is not clear exactly when Iganz Guetz, Thomas Guetz's ancestor, founded the business. "Unfortunately, we have no records. The only thing that points to the company's long tradition is a wall calendar from 1879 that a customer once brought us," says Thomas Guetz, who is the fifth generation to run the Ferlach chimney sweep business: "We therefore believe that the company was founded around 1860."
