Alpine legend Schell

A route on an eight-thousander bears his name!

Hanns Schell is a mountaineering legend and he is the only Austrian to have his own route on an eight-thousander named after him.

Every year, the world's highest peaks attract alpinists who try their hand at climbing their rock faces and ice walls. One person who has experienced all of this several times is the 86-year-old industrialist and art collector Hanns Schell from Graz.

"Welcome", the mountaineering legend welcomes me to his private museum, as the former Odörfer owner collected all kinds of keys, locks and iron art on expeditions and journeys, creating the world's largest collection with 14,000 exhibits.
