EU election campaign: ÖVP warns against Öxit with Kickl

The election slogan of the chancellor's party is: "Improve Europe instead of destroying it" - thus taking aim at FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl. The new regulations on family reunification are also intended to reduce migration.

The EU elections are turning into a trial run for the National Council elections. The election strategy officially presented on Monday by ÖVP top candidate Reinhold Lopatka and Federal Chancellor Karl Nehammer is quickly explained: in the EU election campaign, the ÖVP is taking aim at FPÖ leader Herbert Kickl. Kickl, who wants Öxit - i.e. withdrawal from the EU - will be the message.
