Salzburg woman in despair: “I have 16 euros a day”

Claudia Angelberger is seriously ill with lung disease, is battling cancer and has massive mental health problems. The 56-year-old from Salzburg has now had all her benefits cut off - she doesn't know what to do next.

Her voice is brittle, Claudia Angelberger keeps trying to breathe in and out deeply - even though this is exactly what she finds so difficult. The 56-year-old suffers from stage four COPD lung disease. Angelberger is on an oxygen machine for 17 hours a day. "Even when I'm cleaning my apartment, I can hardly breathe," she complains.

The Salzburg native has also been undergoing medical treatment for years due to severe mental health problems. And: almost three years ago, doctors diagnosed her with lymph node cancer. "It all comes together for me," sighs Angelberger.
