New government, new transport policy, new speed limits? If the Freedom Party, which is currently leading in all polls, has its way, you will soon be allowed to drive at 150 km/h in Austria. Which neighboring country serves as a model and where the first two test routes could be opened.

No increased environmental pollution, no increased noise pollution and no increase in traffic accidents. These were the initial conclusions drawn by former FPÖ Transport Minister Norbert Hofer in 2018, together with Asfinag, on the speed limit 140 project on two test stretches of the Westautobahn.
