Styrian volunteers are helping out for less and less time

Time is becoming an increasingly scarce commodity - and volunteering is suffering as a result. Although the number of Styrian volunteers remains constant, they only want to get involved for a short time and without obligation. We asked Caritas, the ambulance service and the fire department what incentives they offer.

"Short-term, easy and quick volunteering - that's the trend," says Bettina Heuser. As a volunteer manager at Caritas Styria, she has an overview of all areas of volunteering: "It's easier to find people for short-term volunteering - like recently at the Graz station mission. They sign up online for an afternoon and can help out quickly and without any training."
