Austrian is a lucky charm on eight-thousanders!

Hans Wenzl is currently Austria's most successful high-altitude mountaineer and is something of a lucky charm in the eight-thousander scene, because when Hans is on the mountain, a summit success is as good as certain. The "Bergkrone" accompanied the 53-year-old as he trained for his eleventh eight-thousander. 

Hans Wenzl is an absolute exception among all high-altitude mountaineers worldwide. Not only does he climb the highest mountains in the world without a team, without Sherpas and without artificial oxygen, but Hans has always succeeded in all eight-thousanders at the very first attempt. "The mountaineers in the base camps are always happy when I'm there because they say I'm pretty sure I'll reach the summit."
