The Hungarian man who seriously injured his ex-wife in Breitenbrunn in Burgenland persistently ignored a police ban on approaching her. To "punish himself for the crime", he inflicted the same wound on himself the next day.

Following the assault with a knife on his ex-wife on March 21 in Breitenbrunn - as reported by the "Krone" - the public prosecutor's office in Eisenstadt opened an investigation into attempted murder against the 41-year-old.
