Success in the mayoral election in Neumarkt in Salzburg saved SPÖ provincial party leader David Egger. But party supporters doubt whether he can manage three functions.

The SPÖ was delighted with its successes in the municipal and mayoral elections in recent weeks. After all, most of Salzburg is now governed - in terms of numbers - by red mayors. But it would not be the SPÖ if calm were to return now and the basis for the upcoming elections was laid in the municipalities. After all, not everyone in the Social Democratic ranks likes the success of provincial party leader David Egger in the mayoral election in Neumarkt.
