Chronic headaches: too many tablets involved

Headaches - who hasn't experienced them? It is particularly unbearable when it becomes chronic. Alarmingly, according to a recent study, children and adolescents take too many painkillers - which can have fatal consequences. 

It throbs, hammers or stings in the head. The pain spreads and you can hardly concentrate. This is usually followed by reaching for a headache pill, but this can have devastating consequences. This is proven by an Austria-wide study. It found that 14 to 19-year-olds from Tyrol with headaches take too many painkillers, especially if they suffer from chronic headaches - i.e. those that occur for at least three months with at least 15 episodes per month.
