Cabaret artist Thomas Maurer rages against Doskozil

Cabaret artist Thomas Maurer is known for not mincing his words. In the run-up to an evening of cabaret in Burgenland, he has caused a stir with his fierce criticism of the local governor Hans Peter Doskozil. 

The fact that cabaret artist Thomas Maurer (56) is half Burgenlander - his mother Hedwig comes from Rohrbrunn, a district of the southern Burgenland market town of Deutsch Kaltenbrunn - is not only evident from his rolling "r", but also from the fact that he is not indifferent to the political direction in which Austria's youngest federal state is developing.
