What carnival costumes reveal about us humans

Dressing up is not your thing? Then you should change that! Eisenstadt psycho- and sex therapist Sabine Birner explains why it is worthwhile for adults to slip into other roles from time to time - even outside of carnival. 

Even children enjoy dressing up. It allows them to practise social roles, playfully discover their nature and develop an identity. During carnival, many adults also experience this lightness and exuberance by leaving their everyday role and - hidden behind masks and costumes - living out facets that they would otherwise keep under wraps.
