Austria’s oldest stadium gets a new look

Wiener Sportclub is looking forward to its new stadium. The "previous" home ground was considered the oldest continuously used soccer pitch in Austria. Now the new jewel box is taking shape on the same site. And in sporting terms, the team has made a strong start to the spring in the Regionalliga Ost.

The main stand, including the cemetery stand, is being rebuilt and the stadium for almost 5700 fans nationally (international: almost 4700) is now taking shape. "Slowly you can see something, things are progressing," says Sportclub vice-boss David Krapf-Günther, "we are right on schedule and want to play here in spring 2026." Then the attack on promotion is to be launched in the jewel box. "We want to deliver in the new stadium."
