Why 12-year-olds are still in elementary school

Ageing in the classroom is becoming more and more of an issue. The reason is said to be repetitions due to learning or language deficits. Since 2018, attempts have been made to counteract this with German support classes, but insiders have criticized them.

The "Krone" report on shortcomings in the Austrian education system has triggered a strong reaction. While one user on krone.at asks "What will become of the land of poets and thinkers, researchers and inventors?", more and more problem areas are coming to light. Teachers are saying that many classes are becoming increasingly over-aged.
