A huge photovoltaic plant is to be built on an area of more than ten hectares in the north of the provincial capital of Graz. Graz's ÖVP party is therefore firing back at the city hall coalition: will this destroy a local recreation area?

The goal is certainly ambitious: Graz (city administration and all municipal companies) is to become climate-neutral by 2030. At the beginning of last year, the city hall coalition presented the "Photovoltaic Master Plan", with solar energy forming the backbone of the ambitious climate protection plans. An impressive 34 million euros are to be invested in this by 2026.
