Soccer legend Franz Hasil still enjoys hero status in Rotterdam today. Ahead of Salzburg's Champions League visit to the Maas, the 80-year-old spoke to the "Krone" about those days and the chances of head coach Pep Lijnders' team of making their first appearance in the top flight this season.

When Franz Hasil laced up his boots for Feyenoord Rotterdam, the traditional Dutch club was one of the best that international soccer had to offer. Under coach Ernst Happel, the club from the Meuse won the 1970 Champions Cup (the predecessor to the Champions League) and the World Cup, and the following year also won the championship.
