At the "ÖBB Train Tech" site in Villach, up to 40 locomotives, trains and freight wagons are put back on track every day. The "Krone" looks over the shoulders of the mechanics and provides an insight into one of the largest workshops in Austria.  

The 8700 square meter ÖBB site in Villach Süd, the second largest marshalling yard in Austria, is a hive of activity. And no wonder: every day, up to 30 freight wagons, seven locomotives, three local multiple units and up to three passenger coaches can roll into the XXL "Train Tech" workshop. For inspection and maintenance. In this respect, Austrian Federal Railways follows the "location principle".
