Municipal building program becomes more and more visible in Vienna

For a long time, City Hall's housing program had the problem that nothing was visible. But the former promises are increasingly changing the face of the city as visible residential buildings. With the next municipal building now being awarded, the 2000 threshold for new apartments has been broken.

For Deputy Mayor and Housing Councillor Kathrin Gaál, it's harvest time: the municipal housing offensive is becoming increasingly visible in the cityscape. The allocation of 62 apartments in the new municipal building at Montecuccoliplatz in Hietzing begins on Wednesday. The apartments should be ready for occupancy in spring 2025. This means that the limit of 2,000 new council apartments will have been exceeded.
