Hundreds of migratory birds died in the spikes of the pigeon barrier under the Reichsbrücke bridge as they sought shelter from several days of heavy rain - we reported. Animal rights activists have now filed a complaint under the Nature Conservation Act and want to hold the City of Vienna accountable. 

The severe storm and its consequences will be remembered by those affected for some time to come. Clean-up work is now progressing everywhere and people are asking themselves how they can be better prepared for the future.
