Where the most vacancies are now available

It sounds paradoxical: although the number of jobseekers rose by a high ten percent to 340,000 at the end of July, there are more vacancies at the same time. We show which sectors currently have the most vacancies.

On the one hand, the figures are dramatic: in Tyrol, unemployment rose by 17.4 percent compared to July last year, in Salzburg by 16 percent and in Upper Austria by 14.7 percent (see chart). Austria-wide, the increase in unemployment was particularly high in industry and commerce (up 17.9%) and in construction. However, the number of advertised jobs also increased at the same time.
