Withdrawing cash at these ATMs can be expensive

Customers of a shopping center in the central region of Upper Austria are angry: a fee has recently been charged for cash withdrawals. While consumers are talking about being ripped off, the ATM operator claims that this is the only way to cover costs. The "Krone" knows what customers need to look out for and where such machines are increasingly found.

"Rip-off and bottomless cheek!" Customers of the STZ Weidfeld in St. Dionysen are venting their anger online. The reason: the ATM installed there charges 1.95 euros per withdrawal. Although this is annoying, it is generally legally permissible, as Ulrike Weiß from Consumer Protection at the Upper Austrian Chamber of Labor explains.
