No after-school care place because mother works too short a day

A new regulation at the after-school care center in Schwechat is causing parents to shake their heads. Because those who work too short a time will now not get a place for their children. The uproar is great, the city explains the measure.

A unanimous municipal council decision to change the after-school care regulations is causing a great deal of anger in Schwechat. From September, parents will have to work at least 20 hours in order for their children to be looked after. Previously, all that was required was proof that both parents were in employment.
