A lot of content on the internet is not intended for minors, especially pornographic content, at least according to conservative politicians. Several US states are therefore now trying to tackle this by law, but Pornhub prefers to block itself. There is a similar threat here in Germany.

For many of the more than 4.5 million inhabitants of the US state of Kentucky, internet browsing has probably not been quite so "satisfying" since June 10: Anyone who wants to access porn platforms such as Pornhub, RedTube, Brazzers or YouPorn there will practically end up in front of closed doors. The sites are no longer accessible.

In the US states of Indiana, Idaho and Kansas, the gates to lust will be closed on June 28, in Nebraska on July 17. Around 18 million citizens are potentially affected by the latest or future closures. If you add the states of Texas, North Carolina, Montana, Mississippi, Virginia, Arkansas and Utah, which have already suffered the same fate, the number of suddenly porn-less people rises to around 80 million.

However, new laws in force in the US states are only indirectly responsible for the blocking of porn websites - the operator group Aylo (formerly Mindgeek) itself initiated this as a sign of protest, making it clear what users in this country could soon be facing ...
