Being stuck in a traffic jam for hours on your way to a well-deserved vacation can be quite annoying. It's not just that you feel like you're stuck in the car forever without shade, exercise, toilet facilities or a drink: traffic jams can also mean that you arrive at your hotel much later than planned. Is there actually a substitute for this? We have asked!

It's almost a tradition: the annual kilometer-long traffic jam around Whitsun. At the start of the vacation this year, there were a good 28 kilometers and three to five hours of waiting time on the Tauernautobahn A10 alone, and around 25 kilometers towards the end of the vacation. Wasted life time? Probably.
