There are big plans for the future use of St. Pölten Cathedral Square. But away from the market and events, a dreary gray continues to dominate. Catering establishments could make the heart of the provincial capital much more colorful. Who is already planning something, where there might be space - and who has already canceled.

Anyone hoping for a similar culinary variety on St. Pölten's Domplatz as on the neighboring Rathausplatz or Herrenplatz will be disappointed. After all, several pavement cafés will probably remain a pipe dream. The solution originally favored by the city with mobile, high-quality containers, which were to be run by well-known restaurateurs, is off the table.
