The construction of the much-anticipated underground parking garage in St. Pölten is currently at a standstill. The archaeological excavations required in advance have also been stopped. The underground car park under the Bischofsgarten was actually supposed to replace the parking spaces lost due to the redesign of St. Pölten Cathedral Square in time for this year's Capital of Culture. But while the "Tangente" festival is already underway, construction of the garage has not even begun. On the contrary: the archaeological excavations required in advance are on hold.
