Retiring abroad: How to still get a pension

Do you dream of retiring by the sea or far away in another country? But are you worried that this will have a negative impact on your pension? Don't worry, we've asked the experts how you can avoid losing a penny!

There are still many misconceptions about pensions abroad. For example, it is not true that you have to spend your retirement in Austria in order to receive your full Austrian pension. It is also wrong that you are automatically covered by Austrian health insurance everywhere and at all times, even in "foreign" retirement. 

We have had these and other common misconceptions and ambiguities explained to us below by experts from the Pension Insurance Institution (PV) and the Chamber of Labor (AK):
