Why 200,000 Viennese have to fear parking fines

Parking in the city of Vienna is and remains an ongoing issue. Because there are too few marked parking spaces, there are merciless penalties in the 22nd district. The city is still investigating and wants to evaluate further. But the problem is bigger.

More than two years ago, the parking sticker was extended to the whole of Vienna. The system should therefore be well established by now. The emphasis is on "should".

Because in residential areas without sidewalks or with streets that are too narrow, where parking has gone unchallenged for decades, fines are increasingly being handed out. For example, in the 22nd district west of Biberhaufenweg between Mühlwasser and Schillerwasser. There, as in many other residential areas of Donaustadt, there are no sidewalks.
