Mysterious mountain accident

The phantom of the Zuckerhütl is a mystery

Social media is also being used to "search" for an unknown person who caused a serious mountain accident in the Stubai Alps in Tyrol on Saturday. The person is even facing a prison sentence.

Flashback to Saturday: At around 11 a.m., an unknown mountaineer apparently fell in a snow-covered gully below the summit of the Zuckerhütl in Neustift. The "phantom" swept away five alpinists, who slid down around 50 meters. A South Tyrolean woman and her partner (both 27) were injured and had to be taken to hospital in Hall and Meran, while the other three mountaineers were practically spared. The 27-year-old was able to leave the hospital, her partner suffered a fractured lower leg.

The unknown person who caused the accident disappeared after their mishap. Of course, the Alpine Police have a lot to discuss with her.
