Benjamin Button: Upside-down life, tragic love

What a tragic love story! Benjamin Button" had its world premiere at the Musiktheater Linz. Many people are familiar with the film starring Brad Pitt, but now the touching story is being staged as an opera by Hermann Schneider with audience favorites in a way that even makes friends with the "new music" by Reinhard Febel.

An unusual plot, but one that has a lot to do with contemporary issues: Benjamin Button is born an old man and he "ages backwards", rejuvenating himself over the years to become an infant. Hildegarde's life, on the other hand, proceeds in the usual way. What does this do to love? In the end, Hildegarde will be Benjamin's nurse. A life story unfolds in between.
