A beautiful painting painted by a computer? "Yes, that already exists," says Sepp Hochreiter, the "father of artificial intelligence (AI)". The German computer scientist heads the Institute for Machine Learning at the JKU in Linz. At the Anton Bruckner Private University, he talks about how AI will completely shake up the art and music market.

"Krone": Mr. Hochreiter, what art already contains artificial intelligence?
Sepp Hochreiter: We don't know exactly - and I don't know if everyone would admit it.(laughs) But there are exhibitions in America with pictures that were generated solely by AI. In some cases, only a text specifies what kind of image is to be generated.
