More and more children can only speak German poorly or not at all, and language classes are apparently reaching their limits. But there are few enlightening answers to the question: What does the city or the federal government need to teach all children proper German?

Even before school starts in the fall for up to 20,000 first-graders, many people's heads are already spinning. The school readiness tests will run until March 8. The language level will also be assessed. As reported, more and more children are "exceptional pupils". This is how children are classified if they have the intellectual maturity for the school level, but are unable to follow lessons due to a lack of German language skills.
