“I don’t want to have to identify as a man”

Lukas Plöchl "lost" at the Song Contest twelve years ago and now writes lyrics for other musicians, runs ultramarathons and pushes himself to his limits almost every day. Here, the 34-year-old reveals what Alfons Haider has to do with his bald head and why he doesn't show off his girlfriend Paenda.

Emaciated, really starved - where have Lukas Plöchl's muscles gone? "Well, when you're now running ultramarathons, i.e. a hundred kilometers, too many muscles are a hindrance," laughs the former Song Contest participant. With "Woki mit deim Popo", Plöchl and his buddy Manuel Hoffelner went down without a sound in 2012. Out in the semi-final with zero points was the bitter result. Was the world not ready for a song like this?
