The steam train takes you from Gmünd to Litschau. It’s a journey that slows you down the moment you step aboard. A sense of timelessness unfolds in the lovingly restored cars as the breathtaking landscape of the northern Waldviertel glides by at a leisurely pace.

What Awaits You
Once you arrive in Litschau, you can learn plenty of interesting facts about the region on an adventurous audio walk along the Herrensee Promenade. Your walk ends at MOMENT, the event venue in the theater and vacation village of Königsleitn, where Chef de Cuisine Victoria Kuben (from Dorfwirt Litschau) will treat you to a multi-course meal paired with wine. The evening will feature artistic performances by Zeno Stanek, the founder of the Litschau Festival. Enjoy theatrical and musical performances by the award-winning theater ensemble kollekTief and the outstanding Austrian musicians Ernst Molden and Marie-Therese Stickler.

Your winning ticket entitles you to ride the Waldviertelbahn’s scheduled trains throughout the entire weekend. If you’d like, you can postpone your return trip to Gmünd to Saturday or Sunday for a more relaxed journey. Accommodations are available at the Königsleitn Theater and Vacation Village or through Destination Waldviertel.
