Ilzer’s TSG loses to Bayern 1:4 ++ Adamu scores!

FC Bayern still have a clean sheet in Germany's Bundesliga! The Munich side beat Christian Ilzer's TSG Hoffenheim 4-1 away from home on Saturday to maintain their four wins from four rounds.

Hamburger SV were able to celebrate their first full success since regaining promotion with a 2:1 home win against Heidenheim. Junior Adamu scored in Freiburg's 3-0 win in Bremen, while Werder professional Romano Schmid missed a penalty shortly afterwards. Mainz won 4:1 at Augsburg.

Bayern initially had major problems with Hoffenheim. TSG proved to be the more dangerous team and were unlucky in the 14th minute when Fisnik Asllani hit the bar after Manuel Neuer made a bad mistake. Harry Kane made the difference shortly before and after the break. The Englishman scored with a direct shot after a low corner was played to the middle (44') and converted a handball penalty (48').

Kane then added the record champions' third goal from a penalty (77'), Vladimir Coufal added the finishing touch (82') and Serge Gnabry was responsible for the final score (99'). Laimer played at left-back for the Munich side, as did Alexander Prass at right-back.

Adamu ends personal dry spell
Their compatriot Adamu scored from close range to make it 2-0 in Freiburg's 3-0 win in Bremen (54'). It was only the second league match for Freiburg in which the ex-Salzburg professional, who joined the Breisgauers in the summer of 2023, scored a goal - before that, he had only scored against Bochum on September 14, 2024, when he scored a brace. Adamu was also instrumental in the visitors' third goal, an own goal by Karim Coulibaly (75'), and was sent off in the 85th minute. His club colleague Philipp Lienhart was substituted in the 91st minute.

Romano Schmid failed to beat keeper Noah Atubolu with a penalty for Werder (59') and was substituted in the 73rd minute, while Marco Friedl and Marco Grüll played the entire match. Werder's local rivals HSV picked up their first full win since their comeback to the top flight, with Mathias Honsak missing for the visitors in their 2-1 home win over Heidenheim due to a muscle injury. Phillipp Mwene was allowed to play until the 81st minute in Mainz's 4-1 win at Augsburg, while Nikolas Veratschnig came on for the victors in the 83rd minute.
