Since the iPhone 15, which came onto the market in fall 2023, Apple customers have had one less problem charging their iPhones: under pressure from the EU, which forced Apple to make the switch, they can charge their phones using USB-C power adapters, which are also usually available for users of Android phones. But the widespread USB-C connection on the iPhone is already wobbling again. Krone+ reveals why.

Apple resisted the EU plans to standardize the charging ports of electronic devices for a long time, but finally had to admit defeat and replace the in-house Lightning interface with USB-C in the leap from the 14th to the 15th iPhone generation. This was a practical change for customers, as they can now also charge their devices in households that do not own an Apple device. According to Apple experts, however, this could change again to some extent.
