No mercy for drivers

Gave way to a rescue vehicle, then paid a harsh fine

Just because he made way for an emergency vehicle in a narrow lane and had to drive into a notorious "cashier's trap", a driver is now expected to pay 800 (!) euros. The crux of the matter: years ago, the passageway was ceremoniously presented as a "public passageway" by the mayor at the time - and under these circumstances, the monitoring is controversial anyway.

It is a typical cash-in trap that is well-known in the region of Lower Austria, and usually only people from outside the area fall for it anyway. In this case, it was a man from a neighboring village who drove into the "forbidden zone". And only because he had once made way for a rescue in the narrow lane (photo below).
