It's been just over a month since the changeover to the new deposit system. So far, however, only a few plastic deposit bottles have gone on sale. However, initial figures from supermarket chains in Austria show that customers are willing to return the empties to the stores.

At the beginning of the year, beverage producers switched to the new deposit bottles. These can be recognized by a deposit symbol. Since then, 25 cents have been returned per bottle. However, only if the bottle was purchased in Austria and has the new logo on it. A "Krone" test with a deposit bottle purchased in Germany confirms that the return is not possible in this country.
